Meet the Bunnies
Come and meet our adorable bunnies, Cotton Tail, Flopsy and Mopsy! These fluffy, gentle creatures are always ready to make new friends and are a favorite among visitors of all ages. Meet the Goats
Our goats are some of the most beloved residents at Hockwold Hall’s petting zoo! Meet: Ron, Percy, Molly, Ginny, Otis and Arthur. Friendly and full of personality, these curious and often mischievous animals are always eager to meet new guests. Their playful antics and cheeky nature are sure to bring smiles and laughter, adding a fun twist to your special day. Whether they’re nibbling on grass or charming visitors with their antics, our goats are perfect for children and adults alike, offering a wonderful way to connect with nature. Meet the Meerkats
Meet our delightful trio of meerkats: Anastasia, Yegor, and Katarina! These curious and friendly creatures are always eager to greet visitors and put on a show. Known for their playful antics and inquisitive nature, they love to interact and observe their surroundings from their favorite lookout spots. Anastasia, Yegor, and Katarina add an element of fun and fascination to any visit, making them a highlight of our petting zoo. Whether they’re digging in the sand or standing tall to keep watch, our meerkats are sure to bring smiles and create memorable moments for guests of all ages.
Meet the Alpacas
Meet our alpacas, who are the more reserved members of our petting zoo family. Though they prefer their own space, they are a fascinating addition that brings charm and elegance to your visit. These gentle creatures, with their soft fleece and graceful demeanor, enjoy observing guests from a comfortable distance. While they may not be as hands-on as some of our other animals, their presence adds a serene and captivating element to the experience. Come and see our alpacas in their peaceful habitat, where their calm and independent nature can be admired by all.
Meet the Sheep
Much like the alpacas, our sheep prefer their own space, enjoying the peaceful surroundings of their enclosure. These gentle and endearing animals are happy to observe visitors at a comfortable distance, adding a charming and calm presence to our petting zoo. With their fluffy coats and tranquil demeanor, they offer a delightful experience for guests who enjoy admiring animals in a relaxed and natural environment. Meet the Peacocks
Last but certainly not least, particularly in terms of numbers, we have our stunning peacocks—over 40 of them! These majestic birds roam the grounds, showcasing their vibrant plumage and adding a truly regal touch to the estate. Whether they’re fanning their colorful tails or calling out to each other, our peacocks are a delight to behold, making them a favorite among visitors and creating a picturesque scene at Hockwold Hall. Keep an eye out for the baby peacocks too!
Meet the Tortoise
Meet Freddie our truly adorable leopard tortoise with a lovely little character. He loves making friends with all the animals on site, always approaching them with his slow but determined charm. Freddie’s favourite thing is having his lower back stroked, and if you’re lucky, you might even witness his delightful happy dance- a rare and heartwarming sight that never fails to make everyone smile. Freddie is bound to make our guests happy for many decades to come, as his breed typically live between 50-100 years!
