Hockwold Hall: Ethics Policy

Hockwold Hall Ethics Policy

1. Our Purpose and Commitment

At Hockwold Hall, we believe that every wedding we host is an unforgettable and meaningful celebration. Our Ethics Policy reflects our commitment to honesty, integrity, respect and fairness in all aspects of our work with couples, guests, staff, suppliers and the wider community.

This policy sets out the standards of ethical conduct expected throughout our business and is a cornerstone of our organisational values.

2. Respect, Equality and Inclusion

We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone, regardless of background, identity or personal characteristic. We value diversity and treat all individuals — couples, guests, staff, contractors and vendors — with dignity and fairness.

We uphold the principles of equality and do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying or harmful conduct in any form. Our approach aligns with applicable UK equality laws and reflects best practice in event hospitality.

3. Transparency and Integrity

We conduct our business honestly and transparently. This means:

  • Pricing and contractual terms are clear and communicated in full to couples prior to booking.
  • Recommendations and preferred supplier lists are based on quality, reliability, professionalism and alignment with our standards — not on commission-based or paid inclusion.
  • We strive to ensure all communications are truthful, accurate and free from misleading claims.

4. Professional Conduct

All team members and representatives of Hockwold Hall are expected to:

  • Act courteously and professionally with couples, guests, third-party vendors and each other;
  • Adhere to all policies, legal requirements and safety standards;
  • Respect client privacy and confidentiality;
  • Maintain a high standard of service at all times.

5. Safety and Well-Being

The safety and comfort of all individuals at our venue is paramount. We will not tolerate violence, intimidation or unsafe conduct.

We expect all guests and vendors to behave responsibly. Should any person’s actions threaten the well-being of others, we will take appropriate action, up to and including removal from the venue.

6. Responsible Environmental and Community Stewardship

While hosting beautiful weddings and events, we aim to operate responsibly where possible by:

  • Minimising waste and encouraging sustainable practices;
  • Respecting the natural environment of our grounds and the surrounding local community;
  • Supporting local businesses and suppliers where practical.

We recognise that ethical operation extends beyond our venue and into the community we serve.

7. Compliance with Law

Hockwold Hall complies with all relevant UK laws and regulations, including those relating to event licensing, health and safety, privacy and data protection. We review our policies regularly to reflect legal and industry best-practice standards.

8. Reporting and Accountability

If any individual believes that Hockwold Hall or a representative of our venue has acted contrary to this Ethics Policy, we encourage them to raise the concern promptly. Reports can be made to our management team and will be handled seriously, impartially and confidentially wherever possible.

We commit to investigating reported concerns and taking corrective action when appropriate.

9. Review and Updates

This Ethics Policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it reflects evolving legal, ethical and professional standards within the wedding and events industry. Changes will be published and communicated to staff and key partners as needed.
