With couples constantly trying to find new and fun ways to make their wedding more memorable for their guests, it’s no surprise that the traditional written guest book has gone digital!
We love a traditional guest book and it’s such a lovely keepsake to be able to look back on and have a handwritten note from your loved ones. However, why not do one better with a personalised voice recording from your guests? Audio guest books are newer to the wedding scene and it’s clear they’re here to stay. Being such a fun and interactive new style of guest book, the retro-style phones give couples the ability to not only match the colour of the phone to their theme but to leave a fun ‘voicemail message’ for guests to hear before leaving their own message.
You can choose to have the phone placed on your guest book table as standard or add it to a phone box to bulk out your décor. The bonus is that your guests will love this photo moment opportunity — you can see one of our co-ordinators, Molly, trying it out below! The guest book can also double up as an interactive experience for your guests, giving them something to do throughout the day, and if guests aren’t sure what to say, leave some prompts next to the phone. Here are some of our suggestions:
Marriage advice
Well Wishes
Favourite part of the day
A funny memory about the couple
Audio guest books are hired from companies which will deliver the phone to you, often the day before your wedding, for you to package up and return to them the day after. The company will download all the messages from your loved ones, usually onto a USB stick, and return this to you. Now, as well as a handwritten card from your guests, you’ll be able to listen back to their voices and hear how they felt whilst leaving you a message on your wedding day. We are sure you’ll get some fun updates from guests later on in the evening also, once they’ve started to let loose a little — which you can laugh back on together as a newly married couple.
You can look forward to your audio guest book messages being returned to you within a few weeks of your wedding and can plan a date night together to listen back and reminisce on your wedding day. Grab your favourite drink, something nice to eat, and enjoy the evening listening to what your loved ones have to say — whether it be marriage advice, well wishes, or funny wedding-day updates about Aunty Mabel’s crazy dance moves, this added feature is one you’ll remember.
